My go-to for self-defense ammo!
Posted by Unknown on 12th May 2015
The ammo is very powerful. It brings my M&P 40 to a whole new level, the .357 level. I've never shot 10mm so I can't speak to that, but it feels similar to my 4" GP-100. Now I get that power without having to change to a .357 barrel. Oh, and the price for these is fantastic. I will definitely buy more.
One thing I lament is that I haven't seen any proper gel tests on the internet done with these loads. Can somebody please do one?
Nothing even close.....

I said this about the other .40 ammo and this load is even more effective. Really fast; really clean; consistent penetration and accuracy. So much better than the others - this, along with their other loads seem to work best in all my handguns.

I fired 25 rounds through a Glock 27 over the chronograph. Average fps : 1321 !!!! They functioned flawlessly (as with all Underwood ammo) and were very accurate, I was easily achieving 2" groups @ 25 yds. These 155's hit extremely hard, this is 10mm performance folks! Awesome carry load, I highly recommend!
Great Product! Great Company!

Purchased several times from Underwood and each time the process is simple, quick and efficient!! My recent purchase that I just received today was just the same even in this crazy time when people are going nuts ordering. Ordered Friday and received the ammo Tuesday!! Excellent! Great prices!! 40 S&W Carry Ammo
Posted by Ed Garrett (Durant, OK) on 27th Dec 2014
I just got back in from my range after testing your 155 XTP & 165 GDHP 40S&W loads. I used an Oehler 35P chronograph, the temp was 40 degrees F. My weapon is a stock Glock 23, well broken in. Remington's 165 BJHP came in at 1065 fps, Winchester's 155 JHP Ranger load clocked 1139 fps, their Silvertip 155 runs 1164 fps. Speer's 165 GDHP @ 999 fps, and Federal's 180 HST @ 953 fps. When I tested Underwood's offerings, the 155 XTP clocked 1295, the 165 GDHP @ 1180 fps! The loads functioned flawlessly, and grouped to expectation @ 50 ft. The 155's are replacing the Winchester Rangers or Silvertips that I have carried for several years. It is great to have access to quality ammo that meets or exceeds advertised performance.

Great ammunition from a great company!

Normally I don't leave "rave" reviews and I don't normally consider "rave" reviews of a product an accurate assessment....that was until I purchased a number of different calibers from Underwood. This company is nothing short of amazing and their ammunition is second to none! A superior product at prices that are well below the competition (for similar quality) makes this my only stop for ammunition. I'm convinced that if Kevin Underwood sold cars, I would buy my next vehicle from him. Underwood does business the way it was meant to be done; thanks Kevin, I appreciate your attention to detail and for delivering what you advertise.

I love this ammo!

This ammunition only has one thing wrong with it, theres not enough of it! I wish I had bought more. Underwood is the ammo company many people have been waiting for, not only loading hot 10mm and 357sig ammo to correct for the indusrtries attempt to reinvent excellent rounds with watered down junk for ppl who shouldn't be shooting such rounds in the 1st place. Underwood took it a step further by offering hotter than standard industry loads in EVERY CARTRIDGE! I hope these guys stick around a long time.

Hot, Fast, and High Quality
Posted by Andrew Miller (Crystal City, MO) on 27th Dec 2014
I had converted my Glock 23 to .357 sig to get a high energy & velocity round. However, after finding this ammo in .40 here I can no longer justify using the .357 sig instead of this. This is as fast, as energetic, and in a heavier and bigger round. This stuff is GREAT. This is the way .40 s&w was meant to be. AND it's a great price!

40sw 155gr xtp
Posted by Ted S. (burnsville, NC) on 27th Dec 2014
I was low on 40sw hp ammo and desided to try some of underwoods ammo. I ordered 4 box's of there 155gr"+P" xtp rated at 1300fps. My pistol is a Kahr TP40, 4" barrel. I was very suprised to see a 4" barrel fire 10 rounds to an average fps of 1310fps. Great velocity guys. Recoil is know more to me than slower ammo . Accuracy seems to be on par with others too. Way to go guys.

1630 fps in 16" barrel
Posted by Samuel Grove (Spokane, WA) on 27th Dec 2014
I recorded the following 5 shot averages at 15 feet using a ProChrono rounded to nearest 5ft. 16" Kel Tec Sub2000 1630 fps for 914 ftlbs 6" Glock G24 1445 fps for 719 ftlbs 5.3" Glock G35 1405 fps for 679 ftlbs 3.5" Glock G27 1300 fps for 582 ftlbs 3.1" Kahr PM40 1285 fps for 568 ftlbs These were too powerful for me to control the Kahr (18 ounce gun) and caused FTEs and FTFs after the first 2 rounds. For deeper penetration and more energy, past 60yrds in a 16" gun and about 25yrds in a handgun, buy these 155gr over the 135gr.
