Underwood Ammo’s XTP rounds are notable for their power and accuracy. We utilize Hornady’s eXtreme Terminal Performance (XTP) bullets which are designed for deep terminal penetration, great accuracy and controlled expansion. We combine Hornady’s unparalleled XTP bullets with our own carefully formulated design which results in one lethal round.
Nickel plated casings with our new nickel plating process provides several key benefits, not limited to but including; improved feeding in all actions of firearms, enhanced corrosion resistance over traditional brass, improved cosmetics, and ease of cleanup during reloading. Nickel plated casings will not tarnish like brass during storage or when in contact with foreign materials such as leather, moisture, and other metals.
Until the development of the Ducta-Bright 7a process, nickel plating casings often limited the number of reloads as compared to raw brass. It was claimed that nickel plated brass casings “embrittled” the brass therefor making it less desirable for reloaders despite the ease of cleanup that nickel plating offers. In addition, ammunition engineers raising concerns of using nickel plating in “very hot” +P or magnum loads found that traditional nickel plating often cracked deep-drawn cases, or worse, lead to a total failure. This new process eliminates any concern, to the shooter or reloader, of hazard or ability to re-use the brass.
As with all of Underwood Ammo’s rounds, we utilize flash suppressed powder so that your vision will not be compromised if it becomes necessary to use your firearm in low light.
While taking advantage of our state of the art testing equipment, this high performance ammunition is field tested using popular, real firearms that our customers are most likely to own out in the real world with all the elements you would experience. If for some reason Underwood Ammunition fails to meet performance expectations, we stand by our product 100% and will make sure the customer is satisfied with every purchase.
This ammunition is new production, non-corrosive, in boxer primed, reloadable brass cases.

Manageable and powerful

Accurate and reliable(for what I've shot -150 rds) and whoa nelly does it go boom! Cycles great in my g27 and only a little more felt recoil.
*****would like to see what Underwood could do with the Barnes TAC-XPD in 140gr .40S&W!!!*****
40 s&w Does not suck

I fired 3 test rounds through my Shooting Chrony F1 Chronograph. these are my velocity's 1493pfs, 1465fps ,1446fps, these velocity's exceed most ammo manufacture's 10mm ammo in 155 jhp's and is equal to or better then my hand loads. When I removed the primers from the empty casing's there was no sign of over pressure (ie) the primers did not have the top hat look you get from over pressure like I have seen with some Buffalo bore loads I have shot and even on some of my hand loads. I highly recommend this factory load to any 1 that likes the 40 s&w round. I carried it as a Law Enforcement officer and I carry it as my ccw and I do have this load in the mag. of my CZ P-09 40 S&W. By the way that is the firearm that was used to test this load. At 1446fps this round produces 719 lbs of energy. I live in an area that has a high population of large brown bear (350lbs & up) and I am fully confident that I could stop a large bear with this round, Its a great round.
Bet My Life On This Ammo

I have been buying and carrying Underwood Ammo exclusively ever since my first try. Great ballistics and totally reliable feeding with tight groups. I now trust Underwood with my life!
357 mag prerformance

recoil was not bad. the bullets hit and sounded like a full power 357 mag. used different types of xtp bullets on deer's 44 45 they open at low velocity and hold together at high velocity.

This is the first time I bought Underwood ammo and I wanted 165g XTPs but it was OOS at the time so I got the 155s.
All I can say is don't commit a crime against me.
This sound like a Magnum and shoot like one. Super fast and hits hard but without an increased recoil over other loads. Underwood know what they're doing.

My carry ammo

I carry this ammo in my Glock 23 daily. It's very accurate and reliable. Great ammo!!
My go-to for self-defense ammo!

The ammo is very powerful. It brings my M&P 40 to a whole new level, the .357 level. I've never shot 10mm so I can't speak to that, but it feels similar to my 4" GP-100. Now I get that power without having to change to a .357 barrel. Oh, and the price for these is fantastic. I will definitely buy more.
One thing I lament is that I haven't seen any proper gel tests on the internet done with these loads. Can somebody please do one?
Nothing even close.....

I said this about the other .40 ammo and this load is even more effective. Really fast; really clean; consistent penetration and accuracy. So much better than the others - this, along with their other loads seem to work best in all my handguns.

I fired 25 rounds through a Glock 27 over the chronograph. Average fps : 1321 !!!! They functioned flawlessly (as with all Underwood ammo) and were very accurate, I was easily achieving 2" groups @ 25 yds. These 155's hit extremely hard, this is 10mm performance folks! Awesome carry load, I highly recommend!
