All non-jacketed lead bullets, whether it may be cast, hard cast, wad-cutter, etc. "smoke" to some degree due to the wax/lube needed in the manufacturing process. With the high perfomance and velocity we achieve it is nearly impossible to stop this from happening. Higher chamber pressures, higher velocites, and higher temperatures mean more smoke in this case. The only way to create less smoke would be to sacrifice performance, which has never been our goal.
Built to the tightest tolerances for peak performance rivaling and sometimes surpassing hand loads in many guns.
Hard cast flat nose bullets are non-expanding, powerfully penetrative bullets that are designed with your woods defense needs in mind; whether fending off wild hogs or black bears, the hard cast flat nose bullets are consistently effective in taking down any wild animals that you may encounter.
In contrast to the round nose non-expanding bullets, the flat nose bullets are able to pierce through dense bodies of mass while maintaining their nose forward position, which is optimal for maximum penetration.
All of our ammo is loaded with flash suppressed powder so that your visibility will not be compromised if you need to discharge your firearm in low light.
While taking advantage of our state of the art testing equipment, this high performance ammunition is field tested using popular, real firearms that our customers are most likely to own out in the real world with all the elements you would experience. If for some reason Underwood Ammunition fails to meet performance expectations, we stand by our product 100% and will make sure the customer is satisfied with every purchase.
This ammunition is new production, non-corrosive, in boxer primed, reloadable brass cases.

I purchased the wadcutter style as target ammo
and in my Smith & Wesson 629 it"s perfect,
very accurate and consistent.
recoil is moderate .

I've been trying different loads for a full year that would work in both my 44 Bulldog & my Taurus 44 Titanium. Two extremely picky revolvers when it comes to being fed. The 44 wadcutters shoot perfectly to point of aim, are easily controlled for follow up shots, minimal recoil & devastate targets. I finally found a single round I can purchase that they both love!

This load is pretty easy shooting out of my Ruger Redhawk 4.2 inch barrel. I would have given it 5 stars but it shot a tad low. Though I would not hesitate to use this as carry or field ammo. It smoked ever so slightly but not enough to complain about. Cleanup was easy as well, no barrel leading. I gave their 190 grain lswchp 5 stars because it shot nicely and POA. Customer service, shipping and packaging is top notch.
Love the Special!

hits hard and is vary accurate. it smokes and the recoil was not bad . my wife was able to shoot it well in my charter arms bull dog .I read posts about police using 38 wad cutters with great results. 44 sp is hotter and bigger . would like 357 mag wad cutters .
Ill Talk about the load

I will talk about the loading. This bullet and load is perfect for just about anything. I use it in a New Model Bulldog and it works just fine. No problems at all. It is very accurate, powerful and will work well for anti personnel or anti animal encounters. I really cannot think of why I would switch to another load for my 44 special Bulldog. I would use this load and the superb 190 Grain hard cast gas check hollow in SW 696 or any 44 mag as well. Cannot beat these rounds. I have used them on hogs, deer and other creatures. Knock out price and fast shipping. Good stuff Underwood. Keep up great work.
Best Ammo around

I have been buying from Underwood for a while now and have found the ammo to be exultant quality .. this review is more about the delivery time then the bullets . No other company has come close to the shipping time of Underwood . I may not be the biggest buyer but I am their biggest fan . I recommend this ammo highly and the only way to beat the time of receiving your ammo is to go to a gun shop and pick up a box in person .
